Paris: Week One, Pre-departure

Wednesday, June 28

I arrived more than two hours early for my flight because of family scheduling issues. Because of my TSA Pre-check and my priority flying status, I was able to get my bags checked without waiting in line and to get through the security check without unpacking any of my bags. This was surprising because I had TONS of electronics!

Camera equipment galore, backup battery packs, chargers, cords, mounts, tripods, flash drives, laptop, laptop equipment, etc. It was ridiculous. Most of my camera devices look like little dangerous boxes that go BOOM!

The flight was delayed by about 30-40 minutes. Some of that time was spent waiting in the airport, the rest of it was spent waiting in the plane. They had issues from the cleaning crew to people flying standby. The lady sitting next to me was very nice. It was her first time in Paris. She was flying with a cycling group. They were going to meet in Paris and then cycle to several other countries! That’s amazing. I would love doing an activity such as this.

The flight was fairly smooth, but I couldn’t sleep. I did try. I bought one of those new fangled neck pillows they’re selling now. It felt like my neck was in a brace or something. Not comfortable at all. I’m so sad I left mine at home. This new one stinks! CNN called it the best travel pillow of 2023. What a lie!

Flying premier economy was nice. I didn’t realize that I’ve flown in that class before when going to China. It was quite comfortable. I’m still trying to get up to that business class, but it’s a slow process. 2024 goals! The food was just so-so. I can’t imagine airplane food ever tasting good. Every time I eat it, I get sick the next day. This wasn’t an awful meal, but I did have an angry stomach the next day.

Dinner: AOP crackers, dry bread, cheesecake with cranberry sauce, rice and peppers mixed, pasta with cheese sauce, cheese, butter.

Breakfast: Blueberry muffin, dry bread, jelly, butter, orange juice.

Interesting enough, there were no peanuts or other snacks served on this flight.

That is pretty much it for this flight. I’ll post a YouTube video later where you can learn more about my flight. For now, you can follow my channel so that you get updates as soon as I post a video. Stay tuned for Day Two! Also, don’t forget to subscribe below to receive blog updates.
